Matthew Engilram has been a force to be reckoned with in the Aldi Cup Series. He had been on top of the points since race 2, but lost the lead recently after being wrecked out at Watkins Glen.
Season 4 may not be on his radar yet, but a couple teams are already rivalling to sign him up for the next season. One of these teams are Engilram’s current team, Cooper Motorsports. His contract might be expiring at the end of the season, but Dayne Cooper would like to extend that contract if Engilram accepts. On the other hand, there is another team who would like to get the top driver in their car. NichoTec Racing has recently enquired into signing Engilram for season 4. The statistically faster team would be a considerable offer but Engilram has been very fast in his Cooper Motorsports number 29. Engilram will have a very tough decision to make at the end of the season, but will definitely remain a very tough and competitive driver to beat.

The Powerade Series Season 1 Team Signups closed recently and 17 teams have signed up for the series. This article will go through everything we know about the teams.
The Teams Anderson Racing Owned by Julius Anderson. A three-car, full-time team and the first team to sign up, meaning they will have the fastest cars in the series. They will be running the 18, 20 and 81 in the Toyota Camry. Racing part-time for Team Handley in the ACS, Anderson hasn’t had the best luck in the series. Can his team perform in the Powerade Series? Hellcat Motorsports Second fastest will be Hellcat Motorsports, owned by Jek Porkins. A four-car team with three chartered and one non-chartered car. The team will run the 9, 10, 19 and 91 in the SRT Hellcat. Porkins will be running the 91 part-time, and is already offering the 19 to Julio Cesar. Porkins is infamous for being unlucky in NR2003 racing, can his team bring him the good luck he deserves? Gratton Racing Coming in third fastest is Gratton Racing, a one-car, non-charted team owned by Stuart Gratton. They will run the 37 in the Chevrolet Camaro, with Gratton running part-time. Even though this team will not be contending for the championship, can they snatch a win? RunnerUp Racing Owned by Jake Brancato. A two-car team with one chartered and one non-chartered car. The team will run the 00 and 23 in the Ford Mustang, with Brancato running part-time in the 23. Brancato is more well-known on the iRacing stage but can he bring some of that experience to NR2003? William Brock Motorsports Owned by, well, William Brock. A three-car, full-time team, they will run the 1, 42 and 48 in the Chevrolet Camaro. Brock has been in the Aldi Cup Series since season 1, currently owning a team of the same name. They had success in season 2, finishing second in team points. Can they bring the same speed to the Powerade Series? Rogers Motorsports Owned by Jake Rogers. A four-car team with three chartered and one non-chartered car. The team will run the 08, 13, 41 and 79 with the SRT Hellcat. Rogers will run part-time in the 79. Currently a successful DW Motorsports driver in the ACS, can his team bring the same good luck? CBF Motorsports Owned by Josh Crash. A three-car, full-time team, they will run the 29, 54 and 99 in the Dodge Challenger. CBF is a low-end team in the ACS, but can they break through? NRLOA Motorsports Owned by Benny Watson. A two-car, full-time team, they will run the 75 and 77 in the SRT Hellcat. NRLOA is a very well-known name in the NR2003 community, and will most likely have many backers. Can they perform? Crow Motorsports Owned by Chase Marks. A three-car, full-time team, they will run the 4, 31 and 43 in the SRT Hellcat. Marks is a top driver for Charger Motorsports in the ACS and will try to bring that skill to the PS. Western Motorsports Owned by Noah Clifton. A four-car team with three chartered and one non-chartered car. The team will run the 17, 24, 27 and 84 with the SRT Hellcat. Clifton will run part-time in the 17. Clifton hasn’t made an appearance in the RLANZ since he was a part-time driver in the ACS season 1. Will he have enough experience to own a team? Smart Motorsports Owned by Cody Smart. A four-car team with three chartered and one non-chartered car. The team will run the 02, 2, 12 and 22 with the Ford Mustang. Smart will run part-time in the 02. Smart had a top team back in ACS S2, can this team bring back those winning days? NextGen Racing Owned by Davey Johnson. A one-car, full-time team, they will run the 66 in the Dodge Challenger. Johnson was a mid-field driver in the ACS seasons 1 and 2, but is hoping he will have some luck with his team. Kian Raleigh Racing Owned by, well, Kian Raleigh. A three-car, full-time team, they will run the 09, 11 and 14 in the Ford Mustang. Raleigh has had some experience owning top team NichoTec for season 3 of the ACS, will his experience overcome car performance? Rainey Motorsports Owned by Luke Rainey. A three-car, non-chartered team, they will run the 60, 61 and 62 in the Chevrolet Camaro. Rainey currently races part-time in the 89 in the ACS, and like Anderson, hasn’t had the best luck in the series. Can his team perform in the Powerade Series? JJ Motorsports Owned by Jay Jefferson. A three-car, non-chartered team, they will run the 21, 35 and 98 in the Chevrolet Camaro. Jefferson has been involved in controversy in the RLANZ before but is a fairly fast runner. Can he put his past behind and perform well? Bangkicles Motorsports Owned by Hierjel Arvin Alonso. A two-car, non-chartered team, they will run the 8 and 63 in the Chevrolet Camaro. Alonso has had bad luck in the ACS, can he perform better? NichoTec Racing Last team to sign up, meaning they will have the lowest rated equipment. Owned by Isaac Nicholls. A four-car, non-chartered team, they will run the 3, 5, 7 and 88 in the Chevrolet Camaro. Nicholls will run part-time in the 5. A top team in the ACS, how will they cope with worse equipment? A few other things to note is that the only Toyota team has the best equipment and there are a lot of low-end teams running with Chevrolet. Stay tuned for driver signups this weekend! |
